Site Plant and Machinery Risk Assesment

Risk assessments identify and confront the uncertainties and risks associated with the activities and services provided by the organisation, simply a qualification and quantification of the risks

Employers have a “duty of care” towards their employees and contractors, to ensure legislative compliance, employers must identify any foreseeable hazards that may arise in the workplace by:

  • assessing the risk of harm
  • eliminating the hazard where possible
  • Controlling the risk to the lowest possible level.

The assessment would look at the ability to control or minimise the risks associated with the process. There is a well recognized list or hierarchy of control and they are as follows;

  • Eliminate the risks
  • Substitute the process or product for another
  • Engineer the risk pout of the process through better guarding etc.
  • Administering the risk away
  • Using better or more appropriate PPE

Health Safety Environment Australia has experienced consultants to assist in defining the scope of the risk assessments to be conducted. We can guide your business in developing a plan to assess all identifiable hazards.

Any solution must be “fit for purpose” and the risk assessments must suit both the task at hand and be commercially sound in practice to live within the existing business.

Our partnering approach to every organisation ensures we provide long term solutions rather than simply a short term fix and the management compliance within every business is key to our success.
