Environmental Management Systems (EMS)
An Environmental Management System (EMS) is simply, a quality management system, focused on a set of procedures and policies to minimise the impact of activities. The EMS is the guiding document for the whole of the business that should relate back to the strategic plan of the business.
The Environmental Protection Act of 1993 states .."you must not cause damage to the environment" unless licensed and as such its a licence to pollute. This pollution can be as simple as the exhaust emissions from a a production plant, to an EMS for a mining company stretching across, air, water, ground and noise at the very least.
Our team develop an EMS by understanding the activities, ensuring we develop an EMS that suits the busienss and strategic direction.
The environment team, work at all level of an organisation, identifying potential risks, developing management procedures to reduce or minimise the risks and finally, review to validate the EMS.
